KASI EDUKASI (Pty) Ltd (“KASI”, “we”, “us”) is a registered Skills Development Provider (SDP) delivering QCTO-accredited qualifications under the auspices of the Services SETA (SSETA). We operate the KASI Learning Management System (LMS) at lms.edukasi.tech.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

  • Identity data: Full name, ID number, date of birth, gender, race (for SETA reporting)
  • Contact data: Email address, phone number, physical address
  • Academic data: Prior qualifications, academic history, entry requirement evidence
  • Programme data: Enrolment records, attendance, assessment results, assignment submissions, audit logs
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, login timestamps, LMS activity logs
  • Financial data: Course fee payments, bursary information (where applicable)

1. Programme Details

KASI EDUKASI (Pty) Ltd is a Skills Development Provider delivering qualifications accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) under the auspices of the Services SETA (SSETA). Our programmes are registered on the SAQA National Learners Records Database (NLRD).

2. Admission Requirements

You confirm that you meet the entry requirements for your enrolled qualification, including:

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) / NCV Level 4 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
  • Communication and Mathematical Literacy at the required level
  • Any additional programme-specific requirements as communicated during application

3. Learner Responsibilities

  • Attend all scheduled learning sessions (minimum 80% attendance required)
  • Submit all assessments by the stipulated deadlines
  • Submit only your own original work — plagiarism constitutes academic dishonesty
  • Treat all facilitators, assessors, moderators, and fellow learners with respect
  • Maintain access to the LMS and check for updates regularly
  • Notify KASI promptly of any circumstances affecting your participation
  • Comply with workplace rules if participating in Work Experience Modules (WM)

4. Assessment and Certification

  • You must complete all Knowledge Modules (KM), Practical Skill Modules (PM), and Work Experience Modules (WM) to qualify for the EISA
  • KASI will submit your results to the relevant SETA for certification
  • Certificates are issued by the AQP (Services SETA) upon successful completion

5. Fees and Refunds

  • Course fees are outlined in your enrolment letter and payable as agreed
  • Refunds are governed by the KASI Course Fees Policy (available on request)
  • KASI reserves the right to suspend LMS access for learners with outstanding fees

6. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Learners may apply for RPL before commencement of the affected module. Applications are assessed in accordance with the KASI RPL Policy.

7. Disciplinary Procedure

Misconduct is addressed under the KASI Learner Disciplinary Code. Sanctions range from a formal warning to cancellation of enrolment. You have the right to be heard before any sanction is imposed.

8. Appeals

You have the right to appeal any assessment decision or disciplinary sanction within 10 working days of notification to info@edukasi.tech.

9. Withdrawal

To withdraw, notify KASI in writing at info@edukasi.tech. Withdrawal does not automatically entitle you to a refund. KASI is required to report withdrawals to the SETA.

10. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of South Africa, including the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, the SAQA Act 58 of 1995, and applicable QCTO policies.

1. Assessment Philosophy

KASI subscribes to an outcomes-based, competence-focused assessment approach. All assessment is:

  • Valid: Assesses what it claims to assess
  • Reliable: Consistent results across assessors and occasions
  • Fair: Free from bias; reasonable accommodations for learners with special needs
  • Transparent: Criteria communicated to learners in advance
  • Sufficient: Enough evidence collected to make a competence judgment

3. Assessment Evidence Requirements

Knowledge Modules (KM): Written assessments, case studies, and assignments aligned to Internal Assessment Criteria (IAC).

Practical Skill Modules (PM): Portfolio of evidence demonstrating practical application. Each submission must be the learner’s own original work, submitted via the KASI LMS by the specified deadline, accompanied by a declaration of authenticity.

Work Experience Modules (WM): Logbooks, mentor sign-offs, and workplace evidence as specified per module.

4. Deadlines and Late Submission

  • Deadlines are communicated at module commencement via the LMS
  • Late submissions (without prior approval) will be penalised at 10% per working day late
  • Extensions may be granted by the Facilitator with supporting documentation
  • Submissions more than 5 working days late without approval will not be accepted

5. Results and Competence Judgments

  • Results are: Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC)
  • Learners who receive NYC are entitled to one reassessment opportunity per assessment
  • Results communicated within 5 working days (formative) and 10 working days (summative)

6. Moderation

  • A minimum of 10% of all summative assessments are moderated by a qualified moderator
  • All assessors and moderators hold relevant ETDP SETA or equivalent registrations
  • Moderation reports are maintained for SETA audit purposes

7. Academic Integrity

Plagiarism, copying, fabrication, or any other form of academic dishonesty will result in an NYC result for the assessment concerned, referral to the KASI Disciplinary procedure, and possible reporting to the SETA and SAQA.

8. Appeals Against Assessment Decisions

Appeals must be submitted within 10 working days of result notification to info@edukasi.tech. Refer to the KASI Appeals & Grievance Procedure.

1. Purpose

This Code of Conduct establishes the standards of behaviour expected of all KASI learners, ensuring a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.

2. Expected Standards of Conduct

  • Treat all facilitators, assessors, moderators, staff, and fellow learners with dignity and respect
  • Participate constructively and honestly in all learning and assessment activities
  • Maintain confidentiality of other learners’ personal information and assessment results
  • Use the KASI LMS, communication channels, and resources responsibly and ethically
  • Report concerns through proper channels (not via social media or public forums)
  • Comply with KASI policies, QCTO requirements, and host employer rules (for WM modules)

3. Academic Integrity — Violations

4. Use of the LMS and Digital Resources

  • Your LMS account is personal and non-transferable — do not share your login credentials
  • Course materials are for your personal learning use only — do not redistribute or publish KASI content
  • Do not attempt to access areas of the LMS beyond your authorised permissions
  • Harassment, hate speech, or offensive content on any KASI platform will result in immediate suspension

5. Prohibited Conduct (Serious Misconduct)

  • Harassment, bullying, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, disability, or any other ground
  • Threats or intimidation of staff, assessors, moderators, or fellow learners
  • Fraud, theft, or dishonesty in any programme-related matter
  • Damaging, misusing, or unauthorised access to KASI systems or property
  • Any conduct that brings KASI EDUKASI (Pty) Ltd into disrepute

6. Disciplinary Procedure

  1. Investigation: KASI will investigate and notify the learner in writing
  2. Hearing: The learner will be given the opportunity to respond
  3. Decision: Communicated within 10 working days of the hearing
  4. Sanctions: Verbal warning → Written warning → Suspension → Cancellation of enrolment

Learners have the right to be represented by a fellow learner or union representative at any hearing.

7. Appeals

Disciplinary decisions may be appealed within 5 working days to info@edukasi.tech.

8. Reporting Concerns

To report a concern: info@edukasi.tech | All reports are treated confidentially. Victimisation of a person making a genuine report is itself a disciplinary offence.

1. Purpose

This procedure provides a fair, transparent, and timely process for learners to:

  • Appeal assessment decisions (Competent/Not Yet Competent judgments)
  • Appeal disciplinary decisions
  • Lodge grievances about programme delivery, learner support, or administrative matters

2. Assessment Appeals

Grounds for Appeal: You may appeal if the assessment was not conducted in accordance with the Assessment Policy or QCTO specifications; the assessor failed to consider submitted evidence; there was bias or procedural irregularity; or marking criteria were not applied correctly.

Note: Disagreement with a competent assessor’s professional judgment alone is not sufficient grounds for appeal.

Appeal Process:

  1. Step 1 — Informal: Discuss with your Facilitator within 3 working days of result notification
  2. Step 2 — Formal: Submit written appeal to info@edukasi.tech within 10 working days, stating grounds and evidence
  3. Step 3 — KASI Review: Independent assessor/moderator reviews within 20 working days
  4. Step 4 — SETA Escalation: If still unsatisfied, escalate to Services SETA (SSETA)

3. Disciplinary Appeals

  • Submit written appeal to info@edukasi.tech within 5 working days of the decision
  • State clearly the grounds for appeal and attach supporting evidence
  • Heard by a senior KASI staff member not involved in the original decision
  • Decision communicated within 10 working days
  • The appeal decision is final at KASI level

4. Grievance Procedure

  1. Informal: Raise with your Facilitator or Programme Coordinator verbally or via email
  2. Formal: If unresolved within 5 working days, submit to info@edukasi.tech in writing
  3. Response: Acknowledgement within 2 working days; resolution within 15 working days
  4. Escalation: Unresolved grievances may be escalated to the Services SETA or relevant statutory body

6. Anti-Victimisation

KASI guarantees that no learner will be penalised for making a good-faith appeal or grievance. Any such victimisation is itself serious misconduct.

7. Record Keeping

All appeals and grievances are logged and retained for a minimum of 5 years for SETA audit purposes.
